Your Flavorful Adventure Awaits:

Day 1: Hello Antigua Guatemala: A Warm Welcome Awaits

Your host will meet you at La Aurora International Airport and accompany you on a 1.5-hour shuttle ride to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Antigua. Settle in at your home base of Autumn in Antigua Boutique B&B, a charming colonial residence nestled away from the downtown hustle and bustle. Enjoy a welcome drink and savor a light meal as you get to know your host and fellow travellers.

Day 2: Historic Paths and Cultural Tastes: Exploring Antigua

Wake up to incredible views and a hearty breakfast. Then discover the colonial grandeur and rich history of Antigua on a guided private walking tour. After taking pictures at the famous La Merced church, the aroma of freshly grilled corn and cheerful chatter will lead us to a bustling local market for a scrumptious street food lunch. The rest of the day is yours to wander the cobblestone streets at your leisure. Don’t spend all your souvenir money yet!

Day 3: From Market to Table: A Culinary Journey through Antigua

After breakfast, join renowned Chef Luis for a guided market tour, hand-selecting fresh ingredients for your hands-on cooking class. Master the art of traditional tortilla-making from a local tortillera and relish your culinary achievements for lunch.

At 5 pm, embark on a progressive dinner hosted by Chef Luis. Your evening starts with artisanal coffee at a cozy local cafe, followed by cocktails and gourmet appetizers. After the main meal, the night progresses smoothly, with a private carriage ready to guide you through the illuminated streets of Antigua. The evening wraps up with decadent desserts and a soothing nightcap.

Day 4: Seaside Serenity: Beach Day Bliss and Fresh Seafood Delights

Early breakfast, followed by a relaxing day trip to Monterrico on the Pacific coast. Known for its volcanic black sand beaches and annual influx of turtles, Monterricco is the perfect slow and lazy beach day destination. Watch the boats and meet the local fishermen as you help Chef Luis select the freshest catch of the day. Enjoy the sunset, drinks, and good company while the chef prepares a delectable seafood dinner on the beach.

Day 5: Coffee Immersion: Exploring the Secrets of a Guatemalan Plantation

Experience the journey from bean to brew on a coffee tour. Passionate growers from San Miguel Escobar let you explore their fields, delve into the art of coffee cultivation, and uncover every step of the process. Conclude with a heartfelt coffee session and authentic lunch in a local home, engaging in genuine conversations with the producers about their lives and love for coffee.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in Antigua, revisiting the charming local spots and shops highlighted during your earlier explorations.

Days 6: Antigua and Beyond: Artisan Villages

Delve into the local way of life and rich artisan traditions on the village craft tour, with a lunch highlighting regional flavors at Casa de Marc.

Chocolate & Wine: Visit Chocolateria Antigua in San Juan del Obispo, where traditions span over five generations (tastings included!). Sample fruit wines like níspero (loquat) right next door at the Nispero Wine Shop.
Jade jewellery making: In San Pedro, you’ll witness the art of jade jewellery making, a craft treasured since Maya times.
Weaving Cooperative and Pottery: See how exquisite ceramic pottery pieces are created, and observe artisans at the weaving cooperative in San Antonio, demonstrating traditional techniques and the cultural stories behind their textile patterns.
Ciudad Vieja: Immerse yourself in the vibrant market of the “Old City,” with fresh fruits and local crafts galore.

Day 7: Lake Atitlán Escapade: A Cultural Journey through its Villages

After breakfast, escape to the tranquil shores of Lake Atitlán. Explore the rich Mayan culture with village tours by private boat to landlocked villages like San Marcos and San Juan.
